About

A workshop born at the bench

Ravive Mémoire repairs phones in Montreal. And sometimes, we repair a little more than that.

Ravive Mémoire’s founder, seen from behind at her bench: under an architect lamp, she works with fine tweezers on a phone resting on a cutting mat.

Our story

Ravive Mémoire started like many workshops: a bench, precision tools and phones to bring back to life. Précieuse Ekwalla learned the trade part by part, taking the time to do well what others did quickly.

Then a client came in with her mother’s phone, a few weeks after she had passed. She didn’t want it repaired. She wanted to hear her mother’s voice again on an old voicemail. That day, we understood that what we were recovering wasn’t files.

Why go beyond repair

Our phones hold years of life: a child’s first steps, a recipe read aloud, a recorded “happy birthday”. When someone passes, those memories often stay locked behind a screen. Our memory kits exist to bring them out, with care, and give them to those who remain.

Our commitment

To families

  • Taking our time

No pressure, no follow-up calls. You move at your own pace.

  • Speaking plainly

If a phone can’t be opened, we tell you before we start.

  • Protecting what you entrust to us

Only the founder has access to families’ memories. Everything is deleted after the handover.

  • Making beautiful objects

Albums, boxes and prints made to last for generations.
